Position Summary
Hózhó Academy is seeking a passionate, mission-aligned K–3rd Grade Teacher who is dedicated to the ideals of classical education and eager to inspire young learners in both academic excellence and moral character.
This role involves teaching core subjects using our foundational curriculum—Riggs Phonics, Singapore Math, and the Core Knowledge Sequence—while fostering a classroom culture grounded in the virtues we strive to instill: Compassion, Perseverance, Courage, Respect, Responsibility, Diligence, Temperance, and Integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in reading, writing, math, history, and science using our classical curriculum frameworks
- Integrate character education and civic virtue into daily lessons and classroom culture
- Create a structured, nurturing, and intellectually rich classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support the holistic development of each child
- Monitor and assess student learning, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure mastery
- Model virtuous behavior and uphold school-wide expectations for academic and moral excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required); degree in Elementary Education or Liberal Arts preferred
- Valid teaching license or willingness to pursue certification in New Mexico
- Passion for classical education and commitment to the mission of Hózhó Academy
- Experience with or strong interest in Riggs Phonics, Singapore Math, or Core Knowledge (preferred but not required—training provided)
- Ability to inspire young children through patience, structure, and joyful learning
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
